They make some products which seem nice but have serious design flaws and poor warranty and service support on the back end. Tl;Dr I won't buy leki poles again.

I have a pair of superlite poles for trail running which cost $200-$250 after having used several pairs from several brands over the years. The leki poles have a similar problem where they accumulate dirt/corrosion quite easily in spite of regular cleaning and drying of entire poles immediately after use. This renders poles of variable length which collapse when not in use (for storage or say running a section of a route where poles aren't required) stuck, usually in a collapsed position where poles are seized and will not extend again. Leki is not alone in this flaw. Several pairs of black diamond piles which were slightly heavier/less efficient in their function had similar problem. However, with BD where I would raise the issue and they would issue new pair if they couldn't fix the problem, leki USA claims issue is not covered by warranty. This is besides the point that the shark fin attachment to the users hand will tear, usually after a season or two depending on use and these will cost $40-50 to replace (as also indicated to me by leki USA by email). So, if $200-$250 for a season or two of use seems worth it for the collapsible/entensible leki poles, go for it. But for me, they're not worth it and it won't be purchasing leki collapsible poles again.

I will add that my interactions were directly with leki USA so I'm posting my review here.

p.s. in response ot Leki's review. To be clear, I only posted this review after contacting Leki USA and attempting to resolve the situation directly. I received a response from a Leki rep named "Becky C" to the effect of the above. I have not pursued the matter further nor am I willing to spend any more time pursuing the matter. I'm simply leaving a factual and detailed review based on my personal experience her for any potential future customers interested in other customer experiences. I doubt other future customers would want to know if and only if they share their experience that they would be taken care of. Most customers just want to know clearly what's covered and what's not covered under warranty when making a buying decision.

Great poles is seems, until they break after a week. After many calls to Leki service, I finally got through to a representative that said there is nothing they can do. Apparently when most Leki poles get wet, they break by freezing together. I suppose I should only do through hikes in the sun. ?This is my third pair of Leki this year and they all have malfunctioned. Fortunately, REI took care of these very fragile poles. I’ve had far better luck with Black diamond poles. Stay away from Leki products, great until there is an issue and a very polite representative tells you that you’re out of luck, embarrassed, with their tail between their legs.
